Nov 16, 2009 Karen Lotter

Jeanette Lee, Karen Corr and Allison Fisher are three of the top women's professional billiard and pool players in the the world. They are also the queens of 9-ball.

Jeanette Lee “The Black Widow”

Jeanette Lee is a Korean-American professional pool player. She is nicknamed "the Black Widow" for her tendency to wear black.

On her Website Jeanette Lee believes that it is really important to “Never eat right before you play.” Because, she explains “Your mind can't think because you’re tired, full, and slow.”

She also stresses the importance of chalking up before every shot. “If you don't chalk up, your cue tip can slip off the cue ball and what might have been a great shot will turn into a fouled-up shot because you may not even get the cue ball to reach the object ball.”

Professional Pool Career

Lee started playing pool in 1989. She went on to rank as the no. 1 female pool player in the world during the 1990s, and received the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) Sportsperson of the Year Award in 1998. In addition to many top finishes on the WPBA Tour, she brought home the gold medal for the USA at the 2001 World Games in Akita, Japan Jeanette also authored The Black Widow's Guide to Killer Pool.

When Jeanette doesn’t have a pool cue in her hand she enjoys art, swimming, reading, fashion and spending time with her children. He also loves sushi and hot sake.

Black Widow Experience Pool Clinic

She periodically holds the Black Widow Experience Pool Clinic for interested pool players regardless of skill level.

Jeanette Lee lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband (professional pool player George Breedlove) and their daughter Cheyenne Lee Breedlove.

Karen Corr – The Irish Invader

Karen Corr is a professional pool (and former pro snooker) player. Her nickname is "the Irish Invader.”

Karen, who was born in Northern Ireland, began her career in snooker at the age of 14 in Leicester UK where her parents had moved. On the day after her 21st birthday, in 1990, she won her first World Snooker Championship and she continued on to win additional World titles in '91, '95, and '97.

WPBA Ranking

In June of 1998, Karen moved to the U.S. and began playing pool. After winning 10 qualifying events in a row, she was able to enter WPBA pro events. It took Karen Corr less than two years to be ranked number two in the world.

The Irish Invader became the first person to win all six Classic Tour events in one year. Karen won the Silver Medal at the 2001 World Games in nine-ball pool and placed 2nd at the WPA Women's World Nine-ball Championship. Before 2001 ended, Karen Corr found herself at the top, the #1 ranked female player in the world, and remained there for two years.

2009 WPBA Season – Karen Corr Moves to Tennessee

The WPBA season got off to a late start in 2008 due to a schedule change for the Carolina Classic. Karen Corr opened a new chapter in her life with a move to Goodlettsville, Tennessee. The move to Tennessee is proving to be a smart one; 2009 has seen Karen participating a many more local tournaments than before.

Allison Fisher - "The Duchess of Doom"

Allison Fisher is an English professional pool (and former professional snooker) player. She won her first world title at the age of 17. To date, she has won over 80 national titles and 11 world titles in total.

According to the profile on her website, Allison Fisher embodies the indomitable spirit of the consummate athlete. Forget that she is brilliant at the table. Forget that she is the most consistent player in the history of pool.

Unequalized Record – Player of the Year

Allison Fisher has an unequaled record, winning 50 WPBA titles, which include four World 9-Ball Championships. She has also been the highest-earning player on a number of occasions, which takes into account male and female players.

In 2007, she was declared the female Player of the Year by all three of the major pool publications, Billiards Digest, Pool & Billiard Magazine, and InsidePOOL Magazine (in each case together with Shane Van Boening), and also ranked #1 in the P&B "Fans' Top 20 Favorite Players" poll for that year. She has been the Billiards Digest female Player of the Year for 11 of the 12 years spanning 1996–2007, including six in a row, 2002–2007

Picked Up a Snooker Cue at Age of Seven

Allison Fisher was just seven years old when she first picked up a cue. “I watched Snooker on TV with my Dad and liked the look of it. I asked for a small table and I got one that Christmas.” It was love at first strike, she said”

By the time Allison had reached the ripe old age of 14, the passion had turned to an obsession and had formulated into a possible vocation.

Serious Career in Cue Sports

By her mid-twenties, Allison had no one left to beat in women’s snooker, and saw no upside to playing the men. By 1995, women pool players in the States were earning bigger purses than the men; they owned the bulk of the TV coverage given to pool; they grabbed the lion’s share of industry sponsors and endorsement contracts. Allison, like many European players, saw the WPBA as an opportunity for a serious career in the cue sports.

Bought a Home in Charlotte, North Carolina

Allison bought a home in Charlotte, North Carolina, indulged in her love for gardening in her off-pool hours, and trimmed her business dealings down to her core sponsor relationship with Cuetec and further development of the Allison Fisher brand.

On March 18, 2009, she endorsed the Delta-13 billiard rack and has her own signature series. On June 8, 2009, Allison Fisher was nominated to be inducted into the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame.
